Cathay Pacific Cargo is the cargo division of the home carrier of Hong Kong.

Project - New Cargo Terminal

The Hong Kong Airport authorities have granted a concession to operate what will become world's biggest air cargo handling terminal. This terminal is designed to handle 5 million tons of air cargo per year. Cathay Pacific Services Limited will be operator of this facility. The New Cargo Terminal project covers from the tender process with the Airport Authorities till the start of production of the Terminal.

Project Responsibilities

SweetHill Consultants was contracted to support the Cathay Pacific Cargo business and IT team in selecting the appropriate new terminal IT systems and definition of the needed business processes, system functionality and system integration. For this project SweetHill Consultants formed a partnership with the Logistics Consultancy Services Group.

Project Deliverables

• Review of Response to Tender documentation and Terminal Physical design
• Model and document using Enterprise Architect the needed operational and financial business processes for the new terminal. These processes are covering the Export, Import and Transit domains for the handling of air cargo, mail and courier shipments
• Deliver an overview of all available software solutions in the industry with SWOT analyses
• Workshops/evaluations with system vendors leading to a short-list of systems
• Request For Information Terminal IT systems
• Request For Proposal Terminal IT systems
• Selection of Terminal IT system (NIIT - CMS3)
• Supporting the design process for the software enhancements
